Effects of Saturn

Various astrologers have different opinion about the planet Saturn. Some call it the brother of Yama (the God of Death). Others consider Saturn as a Judge in the kingdom of planets.

With respect to one's birth chart, one can perceive the favourable or unfavourable position of the Saturn, based on the following "symptoms":

Benefic Effects: Revolutionary labour leader, researcher, representative - caring for masses/society, good fan following, role model, ideal, without discrimination about caste/creed/religion, love towards living beings, associated with heavy machinery & building works.

Malefic Effects: Weak health, hidden undiscovered talents, no recognition for outstanding jobs, knee pain, remains motivation/inspiration for others, loss in property, jealous, unharmonial relation with parents, forgiveness, hurdles/obstacles in work.

It is difficult to judge or ascertain in which category a person exists. It is not usual that every benefic or malefic character would be affecting a person at the time. There can be mixed effects too. To reduce the malefic effects, the understated remedies can be considered suitable:

  • Not to consume of meat products and alcohol.
  • Recite Shani Stotra (mantras with praises of Saturn), narrated by Lord Ram’s father King Dashratha, under the Peepal (Ficus Religiosa) tree, preferably after the sunset with a diya (an earthen lamp) lit by mustard/sesame oil.
  • Keep away waste furniture, no storage of waste electric appliances, rusty iron goods or any kind of fuel in the house.
  • Donate milk on Mondays and liquor on Saturdays to Bhairon mandir (sage Bhairavnath's temples).
  • Offer food to black cows or bulls. Be generous to the labour class or servants.
